Why is it considered a cog.. wouldn't the center of the shoulders be enough to control path and club face? I can't remember reading anything about the head as a cog in any post here re: S&T

Maybe you need the head to hit all 9 windows.

how does the head moving back to hit window 9 (or move forward for window 1) change the ascent if it is not related to the spine... or is it considered to move the top of the spine and increasing/decreasing tilt?

Head back results in more mid axis tilt, to account for this the ball position must be move back, maybe B4 to B5.

and the baseline then also gets shifted to the right. but by how much?, how open would the face be for zero curvature?

No matter how much you shift it you still want the clubface to be square to the path for no curvature right? Just need to experiment how much is too much.

the more the ball gets moved back to B4 and B5 etc. you want the hinge pin in the left hand to be sqaure to the arc at address. so in normal terms it would mean having the face more open to take the curves off the ball, but you need to adjust where you aim so you dont miss 20 yards right
